Catch up on UVRA's journey before diving deeper.
Dr. Ema Dousam is a brilliant roboticist who created something unprecedented: UVRA, a colony of human-sized robotic ants installed with a hive mind that she controls. On the surface, she markets them to investors as the world's best working force and military unit—tireless, obedient, perfectly coordinated soldiers and laborers.
Her investors see potential for construction, mining, manufacturing, and warfare. Imagine an army that never tires, never questions orders, and coordinates with perfect precision through their hive mind connection. Governments and corporations salivate at the possibilities.
But Dr. Dousam's true agenda is far more sinister. The UVRA aren't just workers and soldiers—they're her personal intelligence network. Every unit she leases out becomes her spy in that organization, feeding her classified information, industrial secrets, military plans, and political intelligence.
She then sells this stolen information to rival organizations, playing all sides against each other. Even better, she uses the UVRA to incite conflicts that increase demand for her products. Start a border dispute, sell robot soldiers to both sides. Sabotage a factory, offer robotic workers to replace human labor. Create the problem, sell the solution.
The underground colony serves as her base—a massive network of tunnels where thousands of UVRA units live when not deployed. Dr. Dousam rules from there, watching through thousands of robotic eyes, listening through thousands of receivers, manipulating the world like a chess master who can see every piece on every board.
